I’ll try to be better tomorrow about getting the link up earlier!!! Have a good night!
A new novel came out today from Mary Higgins Clark. She comes out with 1 a year and I’d caught up with the last 4 that I had not read yet. I am loving my new iPod touch and I don’t even remember to listen to the music on there. I have been reading books. I had forgotten how much I loved to read. Some people say that they would hate to read on a screen but I guess I’m so used to reading on a computer screen it really doesn’t matter. I’ve also started reading the ‘Outlander’ series but I think I will have to read my Mary Higgins Clark one first before I continue the other series. It’s up to 6 books in the series I think.

Ok, I had noooo time to even think about taking a picture! I took both Hensley and Landon to my regular pediatrician to find out that Hensley has strep and to have Dr. Chang look at Landon’s hand! Luckily he doesn’t even think it will scar. I had horrible nightmares the night before of Landon’s thumb being amputated. Horrible, right? I think this is the worst I’ve ever felt about myself in the role of motherhood. I was watching Oprah yesterday, which was on the secret’s of motherhood. Their were a couple of moms on there that had written a few books, one of them being ‘I’d trade my husband for a housekeeper’ which I thought was funny but the other book title that I totally related to, and have thought before, ‘I was a really good mom before I had kids’
I had it all planned out. I would never bribe my kids with candy in the checkout lane, I’ve done it. My kids would never have runny noses, they do. My kids will never run around in diapers, haha, you’ve seen pictures. So does that make me a bad mom? Or am I a normal mom? I really want to know! Here is the best picture I could find for the day I had…

Ok, so I have soooo failed on the whole 365 thing. But I don’t want to stop either so let’s just start from the beginning of this month.
April Fools Day!!!
I was really hoping my mom would say April’s Fools and I’m staying here this summer but, she did not. She got on her plane and went back to Utah for the summer, with my dad…. maybe someday they will live here year round.

April 2nd
So there are a couple of reasons that I am showing you my pink CHI. First of all! IT”S PINK! hehe But also very HOT as all of you know and I was a horrible mother on Thursday and forgot to turn off my pink CHI after I was done working. I heard a scream and a loud drop and knew instantly what had happened. My baby had grabbed the flat iron, wrapped his hand around the hot iron. It was horrible, he screamed straight for 45 min. He kept crying ‘Mommy!’ and I wanted to cry with him, ok I did cry with him!

April 3rd
Ok, I have no photo for April 3rd. Just picture me in my new found ponytail, babysitting, working and cleaning potshelves. Cooking pancakes for brinner(breakfast/dinner) and the plate spilling on the floor wasting 4 of those said pancakes. Wouldn’t that be a funny picture!!!
April 4th
First swim of the year. One of the many benefits of having my parents live right across the street from me in the winter is that they have their pool heated so that they can enjoy it when they are here in the winter. We take care of it in the spring/summer. We swim in it in the spring/summer! We had a new suit for Landon, you know the one with inflatable built right in the suit and new wings. He really liked it a lot, the pool was nice and warm but the breeze outside was a little cool.

and I’m sorry but isn’t this just the cutest little butt you’ve ever seen???

The only problem is that I think our family swim is what lead to this…
April 5th
Conference Sunday, the Sunday to stay home with the family. I was going to be really lazy because the baby had me up all night for some reason. I figured out why when I was feeding him breakfast…

His thumb was horribly infected so I rushed off to Urgent Care where they drained it and put an antibiotic cream and wrapped his whole little hand up so he looks like he is wearing a cast…my poor baby!!!

So far it has been a very emotional month for me. I’m hoping that next week is better. I’ll try harder to keep up my picture taking!
I went to BUNKO last night and actually won myself a prize this time. I was the proud owner of a Easter gingerbread house kit. I let the kids decorate it when Hayden got home from school today. I think more frosting ended up in Hensley’s mouth than on the gingerbread house! mmmm SUGAR!

My awesome husband EARNED us a brand new side by side, stainless steel refridgerator. I am so proud of his accomplishments with Shamrock Foods. He works so hard and even though he’d never admit it he was pretty proud when the guys showed up to deliver it and told him what a nice one it was. We’ve put our old one in the garage. A new fridge was definately something that we needed, but I love that we didn’t have to pay for it…

I overheard Hunter telling his dad yesterday that he was thinking about cutting his hair. I didn’t think much about it because I figured he would change his mind. So today when he asked me for a haircut and told me he wanted it short I was shocked. We’ve been fighting the whole long hair thing for about 3 years now and just Saturday when we were at the mall getting pictures taken I was looking at some other kids about Hunter’s age with their long hair and ’skater’ clothes. I thought to myself that Hunter looked a lot better than them and it was just the style. I’d finally surrendered and decided that it wasn’t so bad. He’d decided he didn’t like his hair anymore and he was ready for it to be cut. So I cut it short and was nervous the whole time that he was going to be devastated. It looks so good and I’d forgotten how beautiful and big his eyes were. They have been hidden all this time…

My husband and I had been married 6 years before I learned that not only did my husband know how to cook, but he actually enjoys it, unlike me. We started a diet at the first of the year and have quickly gotten very tired of salmon and chicken. So my husband came home from ‘Fresh and Easy’ today with all these sauces and spices that I hadn’t even heard of. I was helping him make dinner tonight and was quite impressed that our dinner was starting to look like something you’d see in a magazine. So I decided to take my first and probably last photo of my beautiful presentation of salmon with lemon zest noodles…

Today we went and got our yearly spring pictures taken with the kids and my nephew Joseph. My mom and I have taken them every year since Hayden and Joseph were babies. I think we missed one year. It is a fiasco!!! No one ever smiles at the same time, Hensley never sits the way she is told to. The photographer ALWAYS pulls out the feather duster thingie and tickles her and yes she smiles but she also hops around, drops to the floor and then we have to go through getting her situated again. This year Landon did not want to be sitting up there with the kids and spent most of the time crying. We finally got a smile out of him but then the rest of the kids weren’t sure when the picture was being taken. They turned out cute though and Hensley’s 5 year pictures turned out beautiful! She is not a baby anymore, she’s a little girl. It’s fun but then sad too.

Landon loves Hayden’s Spiderman chair and so do I because he can get into the chair, and loves to sit there, but he hasn’t figured out yet how to get out of the chair. Oh, and he looks so stinkin cute in there…
